The parameters of my exploration starts with no preconceived idea but a computation of specific colors with a mix of varying types of lines, shapes and the contrast of soft and hard edges. 

My process involves a back-and-forth play between spontaneous mark making, and careful deliberation and intention. The painting reveals something new to respond to with each decision made and could launch the piece into a new direction with another set of possibilities.

It requires trust in my intuitive responses, to embrace the unknown and not have a defined path.
